Michael Caine: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

While Caine’s winning streak has continued in recent years with films like Harry Brown and frequent collaborations with Christopher Nolan in the Dark Knight Trilogy and the soon-to-be-released Interstellar, there’s bound to be gaps on an otherwise spotless record. Complimentary in nature, but poorly executed, both Get Carter and Sleuth – two of Caine’s greatest films – were both subjected to the dreaded remake cycle in the 2000s, and perhaps against his better judgement Caine appeared in both, playing characters different to the ones he originally performed.

But remakes aren’t the only sub-par films Caine has been a part of. Roles in the awful Jaws 4: The Revenge and Bewitched are arguably even worse than both of the previously mentioned remakes.

Matt Dillon To Chase Retired Robbers In ‘Going In Style’ Remake

It will be Matt Dillon who chases the trio of Social Security-aged stick-up men in the Zach Braff-directed Going in Style remake. Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin are playing lifelong pals who become bank robbers. The New Line comedy, based on the 1979 Martin Brest-directed film, was scripted by Ted Melfi and is produced by Donald De Line. Dillon, who has been starring in exec producer M. Night Shyamalan’s Fox summer series Wayward Pines, will play FBI Agent Hamer, who pursues the three elderly lifelong pals who, after discovering their hard-earned pensions have been sold out from under them, decide to rob the bank that absconded with their money. The original starred George Burns, Art Carney and Lee Strasberg.

Michael Caine: Affleck Will Be Great As Batman

Sir Michael Caine thinks Ben Affleck will do ''very well'' playing Batman.
The 81-year-old actor - who portrayed butler Alfred Pennyworth opposite Christian Bale in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy - is sure Affleck will do The Caped Crusader character proud in new movie 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'.
When asked how he thought Affleck would do in the superhero role, Caine said: ''I think he's going to do very well because it's a different outlook and he's a very good actor, Ben Affleck is a wonderful actor.''

Michael Caine Joins Vin Diesel's 'The Last Witch Hunter'

Lionsgate confirmed this morning what Vin Diesel has been saying over the weekend while doing press for Guardians Of The Galaxy: that Michael Caine has come aboard The Last Witch Hunter, the supernatural action film starring Diesel and Rose Leslie and directed by Breck Eisner. Summit is release the pic, about an immortal witch hunter (Diesel) who partners with his natural enemy, a female witch, to stop the covens of NY from unleashing a plague on humanity. Caine recently wrapped Paolo Sorrentino’s The Youth opposite Harvey Keitel and Rachel Weisz and his upcoming pics include Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar and Matthew Vaughn’s The Secret Service. He is repped by ICM Partners, Jackoway Tyerman and 42 in the UK.
