In a post drought-apocalypse USA where people would kill for water, Ernest Holm lives with children Jerome and Mary. Ernest buys a machine, beating Flem, a young man who’s been seeing Mary without his consent, at the auction. He then catches Flem stealing the machine, but Flem kills him. Flem then marries Mary. But Jerome soon knows the truth through the machine.
