Marvel Confirms Movies for Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Infinity War & More

IGN

Marvel boss Kevin Feige is holding court at a big announcement event right now in Los Angeles, where he has already unveiled the dates and titles for a bunch of upcoming Marvel films. And they are amazing.

New titles to be confirmed include Black Panther, Captain Marvel (the Carol Danvers version), The Inhumans, and Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1 and Part 2.

HOLY CRAP! That's a shit-tonne of movies and news for one small press event.

I love that they're going to film movies back to back. I can't stand the whole 2+yr wait thing especially since we all know Infinity War part 1 is going to end on some form of cliffhanger.

darklordzor3461d ago

No lie, I could hardly type up the news as it was dropping. I was literally shaking from excitement and things just kept DROPPING!.

Crazay3461d ago

HAHAHAH! Hilarious. It is a pretty big freaking day.

darklordzor3461d ago

Seriously, I'm so stoked right now. It's a great time to be a nerd. Between this and DC, I'm in hog-heaven. Now if Lucasfilm woudl get in gear on announcing shit, I'd be even happier.

I was there and can confirm it. It was such an over flux of information all hitting you at the same time. The hype meter went through the roof, and when RDJ and Chris Evans Showed up, the building exploded. Hit after hit, it was relentless

Crazay3461d ago (Edited 3461d ago )

Pretty awesome press conference eh? Or you talking about the report? Cause that's amazing too. At any rate, I sure that will all come out in the wash.

Pwrsonally I'm pretty excited about the details of the conference. But now I must go play Halo Master chief Collection.

RetrospectRealm3461d ago (Edited 3461d ago )

I was talking about the conference, but the same can be said for the report too. Lol

Man, it is a great time to be Marvel fan...

Also, where did you get that photo of Thanos? I don't see it on IGN.

This is bloody amazing

Marvel is on a role, it makes DC's announcements look so small, once again they show DC how it's done. I like the fact they are doing stuff like Black Panther and The Inhumans which haven't been seen or done before. There is a lot of risks in Phase 3.

Chadwick Boseman is playing Black Panther and honestly despite not seeing much of him in films I think they've done really well on the casting, then you have something like Ezra Miller for the Flash. I think DC need to ask Marvel if they can borrow their casting people.

Spilting the Avengers 3 into two movies might look like a cash grab but lets be honest with such a huge storyline you would rather it be spilt then condensed into one film. I hope they are going to be like 2 and a half hours each.

exactly my thoughts!! DC came out not too long ago with a huge list as well of movies to come, but all those feel so rushed lol and theyre trying to make it into this one universe just like MArvel started it, but I dont feel the hype for it yet. With Marvel I believe the Hype!!

-Foxtrot3461d ago (Edited 3461d ago )

Exactly...there is no build up to it at all, plus the casting does not help at all

I would of liked to see after Man of Steel

Batman
Wonder Woman
The Flash
Green Lantern

One or two films would have Cyborg/Aquaman references or cameos

Justice League (bringing Cyborg and Aquaman together)

Man of Steel 2
Batman 2
Wonder Woman 2
Cyborg
Aquaman
Martian Man Hunter
Flash 2
Green Lantern 2

Justice League 2

and so on

By the third Justice League film you can start doing the Suicide Squad and the like.

The big difference is that Marvel has a proven track record with hits, transforming B-list and even D-list super heroes into big money whereas DC has relied heavily on only a Nolan series Batman and a somewhat okay Man of Steel. So for DC to announce a slew of movies they have planned, some people are skeptical that they can actually do it and on the flip-side, no matter what Marvel releases, people will expect it to be a home-run. Hell, I'm sure one day they'll release a Squirrel-girl movie and people will still get excited.

"Chadwick Boseman is playing Black Panther and honestly despite not seeing much of him in films"

Chadwick is a phenomenal actor and ridiculously underrated! He's been my top pick for BP for quite a bit. Nice to see he wasn't overlooked!

DEATHxTHExKIDx3461d ago

Between Marvel and DC I have so many reasons to live for at least 6 more years....lol.

Chapter113460d ago

Black Panther, The Inhumans, and Doctor Strange but no Black Widow? What a load of crap.

dota2champion3460d ago

Would Black Widow even do good for a stand-alone film?

gustave1543460d ago

I can see it being a low budget movie lol

Porcelain_Chicken3460d ago

Black Widow is so boring dude! I don't care how fanboys try & spin it! She had one good fight scene in IM2 and that's it. She was boring in Cap 2 and no ones favorite Avenger. All the dumb "oh mah gurd dark pastz" foreshadowing is really uninteresting. She's basically just eye candy. Or Marvel's way of adding diversity with the most American-lookin Russian woman ever.

We got Captain Marvel coming. That's a win.

aDDicteD3459d ago

black widow could have a stand alone film but its to late now because marvel has a diverse roster and black widow has been used up already as a strong supporting character in both ironaman and captain america films.

it is more logical to directly introduce the likes of black panther, doctor strange etc. than going with a black widow solo film.
