Annabelle easily surpassed the previous record holder, The Conjuring, which pulled in $4.2 million its first weekend. Since Annabelle's Mexico premiere on Wednesday night, it has grossed an impressive $10.8 million.
Weekend admissions for Annabelle were 2.7 million, placing it second only to Disney's Maleficent, the year's highest-grossing film in Mexico.
