CB: Despite early projections that had the film opening toward the bottom of the top five, a strong Friday has put the Keanu Reeves-starring action flick John Wick at the weekend's #2, behind Ouija, the low-budget horror movie that is on pace to easily win the weekend box office.
TNS: "The third entry in the Terrifier franchise delivers the exact blend of bleak horror and grim humor fans have come to expect."
The Prince of Wales gave an ultimatum, but this won't be his legacy.
TNS: "The Joker's second outing can't be saved by musical charm, with Joker: Folie à Deux resulting in a boring bow to mediocrity."
He was being considered? Now this I would like to see happen alot
I don't see how it could lower his chances, it could only elevate them if fans like him. That usually trumps the role if it's outrageously high. Thing is: I don't think John Wick's ever gonna be mainstream enough to put Keanu Reeves back on the map that Matrix put him on.
At best, it's his very best movie since the original Matrix, and that's not saying the world. Just means we have a great Keanu Reeves film, not Dr. Strange, not yet.
I don't think something like this could hurt him at all. I mean it's a weekend of low budget movies nobody will care about a month from now.
The fact he is in one of those movies and that movie actually did better than expected and is gaining a fanbase shows he has the power to do something bigger. However it doesn't mean this movie is suddenly becoming a mainstream franchise, because it isn't. No one is going to see him and go "hey its John wick!"
Isn't this on the same line of thinking of what if he signs up for a new film (nothing related to John wick)? Would that hinder his chances? Honestly, Marvel would make it work if they really wanted him. Marvel films have becomes that big that they would rather get the guy they want than risk going for second best.
