'Hitch' TV Remake in the Works at Fox

The year of the remake continues.

Fox is developing a half-hour comedy based on the Will Smith feature film Hitch, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The network has handed out a script commitment to the comedy.

Inspired by the 2005 movie about a professional date doctor, Smith's Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television will exec produce. The single-camera comedy is being written by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont (Made of Honor). Smith, JadaPinkett Smith and Overbrook's James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett will exec produce the new Hitch, which is described as a workplace comedy that explores dating and sexual politics.

Really? I guess we do need more sitcoms but I can't say that this one will work. We'll see who they cast and how good the writers are..

I liked Hitch but not sure I would watch it as a TV show.

Yes, that's how I felt because I saw the movie and liked it but why make tv shows out of movies. These days they just keep making remakes older movies and now tv shows out of movies...I wish they would just do new fresh material.

This show won't last. I'm sure they may have a few decent ideas to make it through the first season, but I see this getting old fast.
