Disney Ad Reveals Their Plans to Reissue The Six Existing Star Wars Films

As part of their original deal with George Lucas, Twentieth Century Fox own the distribution rights to the first Star Wars movie in perpetuity. For Disney to repackage that film, as they might be expected to want to do, there would need to be a deal made between the two studios. Even the second and third films, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, have been somewhat caught up in red tape with Fox, though not to the same absolute degree.

I've got the complete saga Bluray but would LOVE to have the original series with the original effects and cut.

True, but that still doesn't mean it's going to happen with these digital cuts. I seriously think that ship has sailed.

I don't really care about digitally. I have all Blu-Rays and DVDs. I want theater releases or nothing.

Yes and no on this one for me. I love the blu-rays I have, but enjoy having digital copies of films for the convenience factor (as I have many systems set up on my TV to play my digital copies). So I'd probably buy them up just for that reason.

Where my Uber millenium falcon Bluray collection with all 6 films and the original cuts as bonus even if I have the DVD trilogy of the original cinema versions but come on give us a super cool box set, I'll even buy all 9 again when you've finished them as long as it's in a Death Star or something of that style ;)
