VRFocus - Some of the biggest names in the movie industry have recgonised the potential of virtual reality (VR) technology in 2014. Directors such as James Cameron and Guillermo Del Toro have expressed excitement for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). In fact the latter has already been seen working with VR, having revealed the Pacific Rim: Jaeger Pilot experience for both the Oculus Rift and Gear VR. This week sees legendary actor and House of Cards star Kevin Spacey talk about the device and how it had opened his eyes to the possibility of VR and theatre applications.
The decision to charge Spacey 'follows a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police Service in its investigation.'

Never even thought about the possibilities with the film industry and the oculus rift, he has a point. Thing needs to get down the motion sickness and resolution.
To clarify, I think in terms of theater is he references Plays. Not movie theaters.
I don't see a purpose for it in movie theaters, at that point might as well just stay home and have the experience.
I see potential in either plays or film. I recall Kiefer Sutherland being quoted as saying that cinema would likely be completely merged with video game technology in five years or less. I can picture that happening in an even shorter of a time than that.
Andy Serkis, Troy Baker, and now Mr. Spacey, actors are finally seamlessly merged with their CG appearances; they can be anything now and retain the soul in their eye that we've missed for decades.
What about releasing video game cutscenes as movies someday in the theater? Could happen with that kind of tech for Metal Gear Solid's alleged movie coming soon. Kiefer would be more than qualified.
ha ha the day will come when a game experience will be better and more in depth than a movie,lol
