The GCE writes: "Although most of the posters for The Boxtrolls are plastered with proud proclamations of kinship with Coraline and ParaNorman, the two previous offerings from the stop-motion animation studio Laika, put it out of your head that The Boxtrolls will be another horror movie for kids. For its third outing, Laika has instead determined to make a more “traditional” family film, one that looks critically at identity, class, and societal conceptions of family and community."
