Saban Films, the new distribution company hatched by Haim Saban and run by vet Bill Bromiley and Ness Saban, has made the first major deal on the ground at Toronto. It’s a 7-figure deal for U.S. rights on Tracers, the Daniel Ben Mayor-directed action thriller that stars Taylor Lautner and is produced by Temple Hill partners Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen. That duo worked with Lautner on the Twilight Saga films. Lautner plays a New York City bike messenger who meets a girl and gets sucked into the world of parkour, and he gets caught up in an underworld element. Marie Avgeropoulos (50/50) plays the female lead. WME Global brokered the deal with the Saban team.
