I recently went to see Dawn of The Planet of The Apes and there is one thing that was abundantly clear: Andy Serkis is without a doubt one of the best actors working today.
It’s one thing to knock out an Oscar-worthy performance, but Serkis does this consistently and he does it whilst clad in a lightball-covered spandex suit. The technique used to capture these performances is evolving constantly so it is becoming less of a grind for the likes of Andy Serkis to deliver these performances, but I’d still say it’s a lot harder to do than simply acting for the camera.
