Josh Brolin To Play Thanos in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'

From LR:

There's one major Marvel Character in Guardians of the Galaxy that hasn't even been teased in any of the official trailers or stills, and that's Thanos, the big bad guy of the Marvel films.

Thanos made his first appearance onscreen (played by Damion Poitier) at the end of The Avengers, giving an insidious smile when told that attacking Earth is courting death. Or "Death," with a capital D, as the comic book Titan is in love with the physical embodiment of Death.

Damn, I'd approve that choice! :D

So Warner Bros turns him down for Batman (well disproves of Zack Synders pick for Batman) so Marvel scoops him up for Thanos

Well done Marvel.

Honestly Marvels casting has been fantastic lately

Nah man, Brolin turned down the role. Said it wasn't his thing and apparently had "creative differences" with Snyder. It's all over the interwebs. Damn shame really :/

Oh well. Hope it turns out well.

Theres been two sides of it to be honest, he's said he turned it down and theres the other rumor that they didn't want him.

I think it was the later. No way Josh Brolin would turn down Batman. It would of been huge for him and he said he would of done it.

It's Warner Bros thinking that they can't really do much with Brolin advertising wise. Least with Affleck they have Oscar wins and other stuff.

One mans trash is another mans treasure, I think Marvel scored with him as Thanos.

Yeah maybe, well Brolin's last 3 leading man roles have bombed pretty hard and recieved mixed to bad reviews (Oldboy, Gangster Squad, Jonah Hex). Not by any means Brolin's fault but WB probably doesn't trust the guy to have box office leading man pull for future solo Batflicks. Meanwhile some of Affleck's last 6 leading man roles (The Company Men, The Town, Argo, Hollywoodland, State of Play) have actually been pretty good, were profitable, and recieved praise. He even won an acting & directing award for Argo! :0 And Gone girl looks amazing aswell!

So i can see their reasons if what you say is true. Hopefully it doesn't blow up in their face.

But Oldboy was awesome and disturbing, but still awesome
