Coming off of last week’s near-perfect episode, one naturally expects Game of Thrones to sort of “cool down” this week. After all, as I’ve pointed out, GoT is a series of highs and lows; of peaks and valleys. While quality remains consistently high throughout, you have the episodes that are full of twists, turns, and excellent battle scenes, and then you have more exposition-heavy episiodes.
So, after “The Laws of Gods and Men,” it makes sense to anticipate “Mockingbird” to be one of the latter episodes. And, in a lot of ways, it was. Nonetheless, they kept the pace up by reintroducing a few characters from the past, along with a couple of big twists here-including a shocker five seconds before the credits roll. Let’s get to it.
