Man, Disney's on a roll today! The release date for the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film was already delayed, but now Disney's CEO Bob Iger has admitted that the film hasn't actually been given the greenlight yet.

“Where must we go… we who wander this wasteland in search of our better selves?”
No one wants the humans to survive in A Breed Apart.
Not entirely surprised to hear this. With Bruckheimer (the big producer behind the franchise) parting ways with Disney, I could see them having a little more trouble getting everything together for this one. I'd be just fine if this movie just quietly went away....
well this just sucks. its been a while since the last one and i believe its been spacious enough to make a new one at this time frame
i think it is for the better, let it rest for a while, then bring it back 3 yrs from now, if depp is still available. i enjoyed 3 out of 4 films they made, part 3 was the weakest, the last film depp played which is lone ranger was considered a flop, although i think it was entertaining when i saw it on bluray, maybe casual fans got tired a bit of the same antics depp does and that caused some decrease in profitability in his films.
It may not be official, but I think it's on the near horizon.
If they didn't just greenlight Cars 3 I'd be fine. Disney is obviously scared of making movies like this since 2 out of 3 bomb. Pirates was always an exception, better take care of it so it doesn't also flop.
