Who should replace Egon? Originally Vankman was supposed to be played by James Belushi before he died, Bill Murray stepped in and the rest was history. It will also be interesting to see if Rick Moranis makes a comeback, supposedly he gave up acting to take care of his family after his wife died.

James is still alive. His brother David is the 1 that died.

Just wait for another delay to push it past 2015 too. Remember when everyone was so secure about Spring 2014 a few months ago?

This movie is slowly spiraling into development hell. It will either get delayed again, or actually release and be really crummy.... Hope im wrong, but look at whats happening.

Slowly spiraling? It's been there for ages already

he should have turned it over even before raimis died, murray never wanted to come back after the disastrous sequel.

the only real chance it has is a remake, a remake which is both strong in plot and strong in action sequences plus they can make the ghost more scarier like the ones they do in films like insidous or conjuring to make it more realistic.

as much as i like a continuity of the old franchise, we must accept that it would not happen unless hollywood can make a story continuing ray and peter story in ghostbusters but i doubt it if murray will ever be interested as dan akroyyd cannot carry a film alone unless he is a senior training new ghostbusters.

all rumors before were a waste of time, now that the director before opted out and raimis passing away, the only direction they are going by force is a remake, probably the real planning stage will just start now.
