Robocop, directed by Paul Verhoeven, who is best known for his work with this movie, Starship Troopers, and Basic Instinct, is a unique and cleverly constructed action sci-fi motion picture, written by Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner. Robocop, the remake of the 1987 film, is dircted by Joseph Padilha, his American heature film debut. Joshua Zetomer delivers his first major screenplay for Hollywood, providing Robocop with a new vision alongside Padilha, as well as staying faithful to the original installment.
After a rough start to 2025 with Brave New World, Marvel hopes to strike back with Thunderbolts. Featuring a ragtag group of misfits from previous MCU movies and a new character that’s insanely powerful, Thunderbolts tells the story of damaged people overcoming their trauma to become heroes. RPadTV host Raymond Padilla is joined by videogame industry veterans Paul Semel and Marcus Beer to discuss the movie and see if it lives up to its comic-book tagline of “Justice, Like Lightning.”
The three will discuss what they liked and didn’t like about Thunderbolts, including their favorite performances and scenes, as well as what could have been improved. Early reviews of the movie have been strong and RPadTV’s version of Thunderbolts (The Sparklers?!?) can’t wait to talk about the latest MCU movie with you.
Deeply disappointed that no one yelled, "Thunder! Thunder! Thunderbolts, ho!"
Good conversation otherwise, though.
The director of the new Evil Dead film wants to leave audiences physically exhausted.
Those pesky log trucks return in Final Destination Bloodlines.
The remake was terrible, it took everything away which made the original so good and memorable.
robocop 1987 version is more superior because it can stand the test of time, it is classy and it was a refreshing take during that time. the new film was also good and it showed a lot of potential and entertaining to watch they also got a solid ensemble of supporting actors but it is not enough to rate it higher than the original.
I haven't seen the reboot, but even the trailers looked like it was just a cynically-made film churned out for Hollywood to have something for the early '14 year.
Edit: I know it's not smart to judge preemptively, but when you're most exciting parts cut and edited for trailers looks rather dull and uninspired, I mean...c'mon.
