ANyone have some thoughts on who should play the 2 most important roles in this?

I'd pick Ryan Hurst as Joel and....I'm at a loss for Ellie. SOme will go with the obvious "ELLEN PAGE" casting but Ellie needs to be someone much younger.

Ellie = Chloë Grace Moretz

Joel = Hugh Jackman--how can you not?

I think Chloe is a too old and b...something about her doesn't feel right for me. Hugh Jackman also has a forced feel to it.

SmielmaN3695d ago

I would say to actually get Ellen Page for Ellie! And how could you not want Gerard Butler as Joel! :)

-Foxtrot3695d ago

Chloe would be a horrible choice, she's not that much of a good actor to be honest

I know people keep saying it but Ellen Page, I think she could pull of a 14/15 year old. I mean have you seen her in interviews and stuff, even her size she look really young for being 27 it's unreal

WizzroSupreme3696d ago

Chloe Grace Moretz and Josh Brolin instantly spring to mind, honestly, I've always wondered if Naughty Dog didn't consider the latter of them when making The Last of Us. Still, in a perfect world, this wouldn't need to happen. I'd be satisfied if they went onto new characters in that universe, but a follow-up destroys everything that The Last of Us empowered us with in its ambiguous conclusion. Simply reiterating the events of the movie would be more insane. *sigh*

Defectiv3_Detectiv33696d ago

Agreed. I'm not sure what they hope to accomplish with this film, the game does a perfect job at communicating the story.

Crazay3696d ago

I'll tell you what they hope to accomplish...They hope to catch lightning in a bottle and print cash with with it...which, they will.

DarkBlood3696d ago

Well its not communicating to the non gamers lol

Father Murder X3696d ago

I have already seen this movie its called the Road.

Leio3696d ago

The road was the inspiration for the game, the creator admitted this. The theme is similar but the story and settings is very different

Blacktric3695d ago

The Road is infinitely darker than Last Of Us. Also, I'm pretty sure Screen Gems will find a way to turn it into shlocky shitfest like they did (and still doing) with Resident Evil.

So long as Paul W.S. Anderson stays the f**k away from it there's hope.

Can you imagine if Anderson made TLOU movie? @_@ It would be an action fest starring Milla Jovovich in S&M outfits shooting clickers with penny-filled shotguns. We'd get Ellie in The Last of us 2: Apocolypse and we'd get Joel in The Last of us 4: Afterlife. Both of which are just there as exposition and are told to f**k off during "actions" scenes. Couple that with enough explosions to make Micheal Bay hard & you've got an Anderson movie.

Perhaps I'm being too subtle. F**K YOU PAUL W.S. ANDERSON YOU CULTURAL SOTOMITE. You took a sh*t on a giant part of my childhood. You & Micheal Bay are genital warts on the c*ck of America. Please stop ruining childhoods & GTFO. Quick someone e-mail this to Anderson on my behalf.

Rant over.

"and we'd get Joel in The Last of us 4: Afterlife"

Okay, I lost it at here. Well done.

Thatguy-3103695d ago

Except you don't have the presence of infections or father/daughter relationship. I agree though, when watching the road all I can think about is TLoU. Especially when the dad/son come into situations where they meet other survivors.

xX_Altair_Xx3696d ago

Will Smith to play Joel, and Jaden to play Ellie :)

Porcelain_Chicken3695d ago

Yeah he'll probably be "guy with hat #2" or "guy sitting down #4".

Poor Bruce.
