The Sony sequel remains on track but will need to be tweaked since Ramis had been scheduled to make a cameo appearance along with the other original Ghostbusters, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.

I wish they had just made this when they had the chance with all of them....if Bill Murray wasn't being such a douche about it

darklordzor3711d ago

Very true. It would have been amazing to see all of them on screen for this, even if it were only for a few moments.

Crazay3710d ago

I wish he would have signed on for the sequel before...Now I'm not even sure it matters to make it any longer.

No point in even making any more ghost busters anything.

It's all of them or nothing.

You know what really chaps my ass?! The scene in ZombieLand.....I love it but WTF Murray?! The tribute in another movie, yet no proper sequel?

Ghostbusters is still to this day, one of my all time favorite movies. Always will be...I can quote it FFS (almost the whole thing actually! lol)
I understand Bill Murray doesn't want to ruin the good thing they had, but WE NEED MORE GHOSTBUSTERS!!! We just need a good team to back them and make it funny.

If they were going to make another sequel to Ghostbusters, the best time to make it would've been in the 1990s. They missed the opportunity to strike while the iron was hot rounding off the Ghostbusters series as a trilogy.

Bill Murray took that into consideration and realized that the script was reintroducing the Ghostbusters to a new generation. It would be like starting from square one all over again. The script had to be just as good, or better than the original movie. So the script was the major hurdle.

Just think about how hard it would be to top the original Ghostbusters script (not to mention the building legacy of it) and incorporating current world themes in it. It's just a massive undertaking of a process.

I don't blame Murray for not wanting to return to the franchise, it would be like beating a dead horse at this point, especially after part 2. Murray is the kind of guy who openly criticizes himself for franchise whoring (Garfield anyone?). Harold Ramis basically made an unofficial sequel to this movie in Evolution anyways, and it wasn't very good. Supposedly there was a falling out between Ramis and Murray as well.

Don't want to know about it without Mr Egon Spengler.

Soldierone3710d ago

I think they should just go a new route now. This compared with Murray not wanting to do it, its time to either just go in a whole new direction or forget it.

The idea of them being in it for nostalgia was great, but losing two of them just doesn't seem worth it. Could still be neat, but might as well just start fresh and lose any link to the old ones.

They need to hand it to Apatow/Sanchez.
