I walked into the theatre aware of the drama that would unfold, in so far as I thought I would mostly be looking at Dr. Ryan Jones (Sandra Bullock) float, weightless in space. I was not sure how this movie could sustain my post-ADHD attention for its ninety-minute runtime. What I soon found out was that the film is so captivating, so focused and succinct that the images, sounds and genuine feelings exploding on-screen leave me thrilled, haunted and hopeful, at first for the characters, and then for myself.
