The Fantastic Four Reboot Has Found Its Cast

Well after months and months of speculation it seems that fox studios Fantastic Four Reboot has found its cast.

NewMonday3716d ago (Edited 3716d ago )

this has topped Lex Luther as the most "WTF!" casting.

Johnny and Sue being family is a core of the FF dynamic

also Ben Grimm is supposed to be a tough guy before becoming the Thing and Bell doesn't project that.

and Miles Teller doesn't have the screen charisma for the lead role.

Incoming rage because they're not 'your' choices.

Basically. This is fox we're talking about, what hope did people actually have that this was going to be good regardless of who they cast?

Who knows, it could work if they embrace the campiness and set the movie in the period appropriate 60's(which I doubt they would ever do). The fact that Johnny and Sue are related really isn't integral to the story, they can still work as a family unit - but of course leave it to the fanboys to focus on the most trivial aspects.

I think I'll be good or at least a lot better than the last ones...god those were boring and cheezy as hell

link2Dpast3716d ago

it not that bad of a a cast, and yea the internet is going bonkers because the human torch is black, dont get me wrong they should stick to the comics most of the time but its not like they took black panther and made him white, then theirs an issue. My only beef with the casting is the thing, hopefully he doesnt becomes cgi which i would hate becuase the previous fantastic four movie had that casting and idea spot on

vitorizzo3716d ago

just making some crap so they dont lose the franchise to marvel

PSVita3716d ago

Sony did the same thing with Spider-Man and now it's there most profitable series

--Onilink--3716d ago

most complains I have seen are these:

Human torch is black (because clearly adoption or step brother is an impossibility in movies...)

"They are too young...", but most cant seem to do some basic reading and google-fu to realize that the movie is based on Ultimate F4, which features young versions of the characters.

-Foxtrot3716d ago

Mostly because those complaints are valid

If a black superhero like Black Panther, War Machine, Luke Cage, Storm, Blade, Falcon were played by a white actor then I would be just as ticked off. Not to mention Susan and Johnny are brother and sister...not adopted.

Even with the Ultimate F4 they aren't as young as they look, take Miles Teller...he looks so out of place.

Oh and and Jamie Bell as THE THING....come on, I know it will be CGI but even still it's about acting tough and scary, scrawny little Jamie couldn't do s***

Baka-akaB3716d ago

The ultimate F4 were actually that young . The Oldest Reed and Ben were 20 years old when they gained powers . And Johnny was definitively a teenager .

SpideySpeakz3716d ago

Fanboy meltdown.

Yeah, because adoption is the ONLY possibility.
Because a mother or a father can't have two children by two different parents of two different ethnic groups. It's impossible, the guys at Stormfront says so.

-Foxtrot3716d ago (Edited 3716d ago )

@MassEffect23

I've never known a brother and sister who come from a racial couple have a totally white child then have a completely black child. You would at least see it on the children, they would bother be a mixed race but these actors couldn't be more different

@Balka-akaB

Even still they look nothing like the Ultmite forms

Jamie Bell has been chosen for Ben for example

http://static3.wikia.nocook...

Looks nothing like him

--Onilink--3716d ago

Honestly whether an actor is black or white really doesnt mean anything to me as long as its not somehow reflected on his personality.

Johnny Storm's personality has nothing to do with the color of his skin, so I dont mind.

000013716d ago

nothing about human torches race is important to the characters origin story or dynamic in the group. he could be any race and retain the essence of the character. your butthurt plain and simple. i call it how i see it.

-Foxtrot3716d ago

@blue_flowers

lol...how am I "butthurt" if a character is changed or if actors don't look the part. It's an obvious criticism, I'm not going to nod my head and eat crap up what people like you do.

It's why we've had two crap F4 films.

SilentNegotiator3716d ago

"nothing about human torches race is important to the characters origin story or dynamic in the group"

What about the origin of being born from the same parents as Sue and the dynamic of being Sue's brother?

truechainz3716d ago (Edited 3716d ago )

Actually it has happened before where siblings have been born one black and one white. Very rare though like lightning in a bottle genetically. I get what you are saying though. I think Michael B Jordan will be a great human torch, but it is inconsistent.
