As detectives Rust Cohle and Martin Hart, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are the grim, beating heart of HBO’s “True Detective,” and have deservedly earned no shortage of acclaim for their smoldering performances as they wrestle personal demons, while pursuing the monster behind a string of ritual murders. Their partnership is one that is professionally solid, but personally fraught, and between them is Martin’s wife Maggie, played by Michelle Monaghan. And the actress’ work is equally deserving of attention as her co-stars in the show.

Death Whisperer Review: Nadech Kugimiya makes for a beefy protagonist in this horror movie that any and all thrills!
I like her on this show playing Woody Harrelson's wife. She does a good job and now playing the part of wife who just found out that he's been cheating on her...I wouldn't want to get in her way.
It sounds like they have more in store for her than just playing the role of the battered housewife which is a relief. Their relationship has been one of the least interesting aspects of the show for me. It's part of the reason I find House Of Cards so refreshing, I like the way Francis and Claire don't spend their time constantly bickering.
Yes, but this show really isn't about them either, the major story here is the serial killer and who is it? Now they're trying to make you think it's one of them. The story is trying to draw you to suspect that but I'm not too quick to see that yet.
