The Legacy of Nolan’s Batman Trilogy: Good or Bad?

While Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy is acknowledged as a triumph of the action film/comic book genres, did the series ultimately do as much harm as good to the entertainment industry? As well done as they films were, is the vast shadow from the Nolan/Bale trilogy doing damage to the film/TV medium?

I thought Batman Begins was good, The Dark Knight was great, and TDK Rises I thought was terrible, although maybe I need to give it another chance.

Haven't seen Man of Steel yet.

Please leave Nolan alone. He was the right man, at the right time with the right project. Warner took a gamble on the man and it paid off.
I for one can only see my "super" hero movies in the context of gritty and real, because in today's day in age. Men in tights running around doing silly things, is plain silly.
Team Nolan/Snyder did a phenomenal job with rethinking Superman for an audience that grew up on reality TV and know that our government are a pack of liars and cheats.
This isn't 1950's America.
Times change, sensibilities change and yet...we still cant fathom a black man playing Electro.
