Ever since the start of this year’s awards season, “12 Years a Slave” and “American Hustle” have been the two front-runners in the Oscar run for Best Picture. The two magnificent films impressed the academy members and critics alike, winning a number of “film of the year” awards each, at various film awards ceremonies this year. “12 Years a Slave” won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture (Drama), with “American Hustle” taking home the award for Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy). The two have been going head-to-head every awards ceremony, yet ever since the Producers Guild Awards of 2014, things have changed quite a bit as there is a third contender for Best Picture Oscar. Alfonso Cuarón’s “Gravity” tied for top prize with “12 Years a Slave”, and now took home the award for best Feature Film at the 66th Directors Guild of America Awards.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
