It was only a matter of time before Disney’s golden child animation acquisition was brought into the company franchise game. John Lasseter doubling his time at Disney Animation is a good cog in the machine, but there comes an opportunity to mix two potentially profitable brands together and see if the success can exponentially multiply. Or that must be the thinking at Disney, because we’ve heard that Pixar has been given their own Star Wars movie.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
Please let this be true! While I love all of the Star Wars movies (to some degree) some of the best things related to the brand have come from outside developers. Like the video games and books. So having another film studio make a Star Wars movie could be all kinds of awesome.
My biggest worry is that it will be to much of a good thing. The Star Wars films became legends and we had to make do with only three films. Then came a flood of Expanded Universe which game way to the Prequels and more Expanded Universe. Now we have five movies coming, at least, a new animated series, and an animated film. Having New Star Wars every year or every other year may dilute things to the point where they are not the big events that they used to be. A new Star Wars film was a major event, it was the culmination of three years of speculation, anticipation, and waiting.
I'm kind of excited for this but the thing is Pixar takes a long time with the stuff it's making, and for good reason, them doing a Star Wars film seems like a waste with how much Star Wars stuff thats coming out.
I'd rather see their efforts go into something new or even something like the Incredibles 2 or Toy Story 4
Hey Disney, maybe give us our animators back? -Pixar
