I had pretty wel figured that this was a done deal ages ago.... Good news.

darklordzor3752d ago

Yeah, I could have sworn they were already signed on for the sequels. Maybe the news here is that it's for 3 films and not 2 as the original plan was.

Good news will be when this flops. Sadly that wont happen. To this day that movie was one of the worst theater experiences. In stead of making Terminator camoron milks out this trash...

I wish I could go back to the old days when films had stories and idiots didnt flock to see rubbish like this...

Avatar--2009...Avatar 2--2016
And to think there'll be three sequels!! James Cameron is a madman!

Crazay3752d ago

If memory serves, they're supposed to film at least 2 of them back to back.

medman3752d ago

Zoe Saldana will be in a nursing home by the time the 4th film is released.

Avatar isn't good enough to warrant a 7 year break between sequels. WHo the hell do they think they are..

blackmanone3751d ago (Edited 3751d ago )

It will really be interesting to see how the second one performs. As someone who watched it at home, without the 3d effects, I was treated to a lackluster story that failed to capture my interest. Had it been the first 3d movie I saw, maybe it would've made the movie more interesting, but not enough to convince me to go see the next in the theatre.

the story is not wow. but the idea and environment is wow.

they could have made the story more solid though, but they chose to put the hollywoodish touches to it to ruin it.

they should watch lord of the ring and learn something.

blackmanone3751d ago

Oh, agreed. If anything, the environment was one of the greatest of all time. I'll give it that.

One of the things Cameron does the best is listen to input from scientists. Word is that he wouldn't put the floating mountains in until scientists could show him proof that it could happen in real life. Now that's determination.
