Has Bryan Cranston Been Confirmed For 'Lex Luthor' In Man of Steel 2

CBM

Yes, this old chestnut - but now we have some fairly reliable sources claiming that the Breaking Bad actor has indeed signed on to star as Superman's most dauntless foe in Zack Snyder's sequel to Man Of Steel. They also claim to have info on Ben Affleck's Bat-suit.

I'd love to see Cranston as Luthor - Really I would but being so freshly removed from the role of Walter White, I can't help but think that so many people want this movie to fail that they'll use it as fodder to mock the movie with "Heisenberg" or "Breaking Batman" comments. Something stupid will mire the casting if it holds to be true.

They already took that risk casting Afleck, with him having played DareDevil.

If Bryan Cranston in Lex Luthor, get prepared to have a film's spotlight being stolen by him.

There is also that possibility for sure - but I see it used against the series.

thats not a bad thing! the Dark knight was a good movie, but what made it so amazing was Heath Ledger as the joker stealing the limelight, every superhero movie needs an amazing villain. he could help ofset how bad affleck might be as batman.

Crazay3760d ago

That's a fair point. The Brokeback Batman comments were brutal for months after his casting was announced.

A true supervillain will steal the limelight from the heroes.

Cranston is much better choice than Denzel, and not just because he's white like Luthor should be.

I like the idea, but I'm more partial to seeing Joaquin Phoenix play Luther. He was such an excellent villain in Gladiator, plus I think Luther should be closer to Superman's age.
