CBM: TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION director Michael Bay short-circuited onstage at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas today.
I feel for you Bay! Keep up the good work! It's all good!
You just all witnessed the REAL Micheal Bay.
Don't be so hard on the guy. I mean, can YOU think without a teleprompter constantly...DANG IT FRANK! Get the prompter working! How do I feel about Michael Bay's meltdown?! Okay, I'll wing it. I think that Mr. Bay..... I'm sorry....
Granted, it was probably just stage fright. But it's a little funny that he completely choked when asked his own thoughts, especially if you're critical of his work for being unoriginal.
Everybody gets stage fright bro. Don't know why everyone's disagreeing with my comment either. I guess they don't like his movies. I do, I mean, they entertain me, so that's alright with me.
Stay classy. Im Ron Burgundy?
What just happened?
He blew up
He didn't blow up, he just got flustered and couldn't recover. It's hard for most people to speak in front of large numbers of people. If you are prepared to speak using the teleprompter and then it screws up I'm sure it can be hard to regain your bearings.
you missed the joke
Why does he need a teleprompter to tell us what HE thinks?
Because some people just get stage fright and shutdown mentally. It's happened to me a few times, but at times like this you have to try to improvise and make the best of it.
I understand that but this Michael Bay we're talking about, I'm sure he's had more than enough practice. He could have at least answered a simple question but instead walked off in the middle of an important unveiling.
hes a director not a stage actor and not a public speaker. hes behind the camera in control all the time, something like this feels like a total loss of control and he was most likely very nervous already. hes a person like everyone else not a nerves of steel performing artist.
Nah I agree with zerocrossing, if he REALLY had something meaningful to say, he'd say it. The fact that he relied on a teleprompter suggests disingenuousness and pre-packaged, wishy-washy promotional speak. I mean it's Michael Bay for chrissakes, this certainly isn't the first time he's appeared at something like this. He's a major filmmaker, and he certainly doesn't strike me as lacking confidence or charisma. I understand that just coming out and saying what you want to say on a stage in front of a lot of people can be daunting and can impact on your delivery, but not only is this Michael Bay we're talking about, to say what we was trying to say up there certainly wouldn't have required much rehearsal. This is a man fully immersed in the corporate side of film, don't expect a lot of sincerity or genuineness. It's all advertisement round these parts.
dudes juggling two movies and a life and the guy who runs the teleprompter fucked up. bay sure doesnt need the money, why deal with an unprofessional keynote when its not worth the effort to him.
Stage fright sucks
I felt like dying just watching this imagine how he must have felt especially since he never does stuff like this.
This is payback for Pearl Harbour. Been a long time coming.
I wanna feel bad for the guy, I just can't get over the hilarity of seeing implode after they ask him for an original thought.
still more professional than this http://www.youtube.com/watc...
stage fright? if not thats some weird shit
You'd think he had some idea what he was meant to talk about. Talk about unprepared. I feel more sorry for the other guy.
He is just like Obama. When there is no teleprompter, he cannot speak.
ha ha they are all robots. all is scripted and to think that the man is a mastermind in movie industry and he cannot bound a word or two without the help of a teleprompter. pff... you know that when you try to look too perfect you end up being pathetic. be yourself.
