Holiday season is finally here and everyone is heading to the movies. We've compiled a list of our top five must see flicks of the season. Due to the heartwarming nature of Saving Mr. Banks, it has earned the number one spot on our list of best movies to see this holiday season. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and American Hustle also made the cut.
Walter Mitty is just your average, ordinary guy. He carries a briefcase to work, struggles with online dating and harbors a secret crush on a co-worker. But in his daydreams, he saves dogs from burning buildings, climbs mountains in the arctic and is fearless when it comes to fighting for what he believes in. After years of working at the same job and sticking to the same routines day in and day out, he's finally arrived at a crossroads in life. And life for Walter Mitty is about to get a whole lot more interesting.
Most people are probably familiar with Mary Poppins, the film — but many may not realize that Walt Disney himself spent some twenty years trying to secure the motion picture rights to the original book from its author, Pamela Lyndon (P.L.) Travers. And it's the end of this tumultuous journey that's dramatized in director John Lee Hancock's Saving Mr. Banks — with Emma Thompson playing the no-nonsense author and Tom Hanks as the affable Walt Disney, who's adamant about keeping a promise to his daughters, by bringing their favorite book to the big screen. With its many callbacks to the 1964 Disney classic, especially its memorable songs — it's those fans who will get the most out of Saving Mr. Banks. But if you aren't familiar with that beloved film, this film might just spur your interest to discover what all the fuss is about.

20th Century Fox has just announced the release date and details for Ben Stiller's latest film, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which garnered a bunch of buzz around it's release. If you didn't catch it in theaters, or just want to watch it again, you'll be getting your chance soon when it hits shelves in April with a slew of bonus features to go with it.
I never got a chance to see this in theaters. I kind of wanted to, but not enough to get my butt in the seat. I'm excited to see it on blu-ray though!
