Ryan Reynolds: Deadpool Movie Getting Closer

Ryan Reynolds has given an update on the still-in-development ‘Deadpool’ movie, a spin-off of the actor’s ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ character.

“[In] its current iteration the movie’s actually very small,” Reynolds revealed whilst doing press for animated snail story ‘Turbo’. “There’s minimal impact to the studio, which is the way we’re kind of presenting it to them. We’re saying ‘Look, the budget is minimal. Therefore, can we do this the way it should be done?’ Which unfortunately needs a Rated R [age certificate] or it needs those elements.”

Could be good if they get to slide under Fox's radar. If Fox is like "whatever, here is some money, get out of here" it could give them the freedom to make a good Deadpool movie.

However I'm afraid once Fox steps in, they will ruin it like usual. I can see them now attempting to make this PG 13....

In terms of character though, how is this not being done? Deadpool is huge right now.

very small tiptoe forward steps is good enough for me that the movie is still strongly considered, but i do hope it will end up as an R movie rating because that is the way it should be presenteD.

Maybe they shouldn't go with Ryan Reynolds. He hasn't had the greatest luck with the big-budget projects, even the animated Turbo.
