Elysium Review | GES

www.ges-sa.co.za | Being a huge fan of Neill Blomkamp’s first hit sci-fi movie District 9, I was very excited to see Elysium. I was looking forward to see if he was going to up his game now that he’s got serious backing in Hollywood and boy, I wasn’t disappointed.

Elysium is set in 2154, where the rich live in outer space in a spaceship called Elysium, while the poor suffers through every day on what is left of Earth, after being ruined by mankind. On Elysium miracles are possible, where you can cure cancer with one treatment on their fancy machines and where everyone is happy and healthy. On Earth, it’s very much a battle to get through your day alive, never mind happy or healthy.
