Last month the drum was banging pretty hard in some quarters for everyone to show support for Guillermo Del Toro's "Pacific Rim," as it was that increasingly rare beast; a summer movie not based on a pre-existing property. But where is the nerd choir for Neill Blomkamp's "Elysium"? More inventive, enjoyable and accomplished than Del Toro's smash fest, the movie is due in just a few days as the last blockbuster hurrah of the season. Granted, it doesn't seem to be the formulaic slam dunk of Del Toro's movie so perhaps that's why the enthusiasm is a bit more muted, but Sony's marketing team is hoping to rally the troops.
"If you are already a fan of this franchise, this is a very good option this weekend at the cinema. It's well made, the actors are great and the story/world setting is very interesting." - Bryan (Resident Entertainment)
Ashley Madison-Sex Lies and Scandal Review: The documentary refuses to take a stand on whether or not it wants us to feel bad for cheaters, infuriating viewers with its wishy washy attitude.
Monster Review: While this film delivers elements of horror and thriller, they're only sporadically effective, leaving the overall experience falling short of expectations.
Matt Damon can look so good when he works out for a film.
