"Somewhat disappointing summer season"....Really?! On the whole I've felt like this has been one of the better Summer seasons that we've had in a while. Lots of good movies and great scores all around.

And honestly, I enjoyed Oblivion, but it's far from being one of the better Summer films. It was filled with so many plot-holes it's ridiculous, and overall didn't do anything unique with the genre. It was fun and entertaining, but so many other things this Summer trumped it.

I've have honestly come away disappointed at this summer as well: IM3, Star Trek: Into Darkness, even a bit annoyed at some ideas in Man of Steel.

Definitely been a lot of good scores though.

Iron Man 3 was one of the biggest disappointments for me this Summer, but on the whole, I've really enjoyed most of what's been offered. Was it a perfect Summer? No, but they never are. There are both good and bad films that come out every year, but considering some of the Summer seasons in the last 5 years or so, this Summer was far from disappointing.

Heh...come to think of it, I'm drawing a blank when it comes to past summer movie seasons. :P

I suppose the key term to remember is "somewhat disappointing." I LOVED Pacific Rim and will probably share the same affection with Elysium when it's out, but a bit saddened by Marvel's Phase 2 rollout so far.

I'm sure we can save "terribly disappointing" for summer seasons a Transformers movie released or something. :P

Seems alright. Still deciding if I should buy this on DVD or not.
