Tim writes: Dexter’s seventh season was something of a revival for the series. I’d all but written the show off after a terrible sixth season that saw Colin Hanks and Edward James Olmos intertwined in one of the more poorly telegraphed twists of recent memory. Fact is, the turn never came soon enough. Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) discovering her beloved brother as the Bay Harbor Butcher was always going to be the plot point driving the series to finale. Making Debra implicit in Dex’s crimes creates our anti-hero’s deepest moral quandary yet: he’s corrupted his own moral center.
