'Star Wars' Fans Still Love To Hate Ewoks 30 Years Later

On May 25, 1983, the third installment of George Lucas' "Star Wars" movie saga was released into theaters. Thirty years later, "Episode VI -- Return of the Jedi" remains quite a controversial film among "Star Wars" fans, largely due to the tiny inhabitants of the forest moon of Endor.

LOL they are annoying.

they are cute but are just as annoying as JarJar Binks. They simply don't mix well with the kind of story they were telling on this trilogy where on SWV it took like the darkest turn of them all. Then all of a sudden some little cute animals help the rebels fight fully armed clone troopers... I still wonder if it was really Lucas who wrote these stories because they are so inconsistent! It's like it was writen by 5-6 different persons. lol

Personally, I loved the Ewoks. They were classic.

come on guys we all know they are single handedly the ones responsible for bringing down the empire lol :P

Sandmano3982d ago

Its a pretty self explanatory saying...

RetrospectRealm3982d ago

I didn't ask what you meant by the saying... I'm asking what point you're trying to get across and why.

you just love the nostalgia just like me. We were much more younger when we watched these movies so we accepted it all very easily. Suspension of disbelief is how this is called and as we grow up, learn new things and become more mature it becomes harder for the movie directors to convince us with the realities they present in their movies.

RetrospectRealm3982d ago

Agreed. That's why it's a classic.

Cute lil bastards! They look (almost)as cute as Gizmo!

coolbeans3982d ago

I don't mind joking about them but it seems strange to me how often I see something as innocuous as them would drag down someone's view of ROTJ's quality. Especially so for a film able to tightly knit 1+1/2 movie's worth of plot (picking up all of Empire's cliffhangers).

Screw ewoks. worst ending ever

coolbeans3982d ago

You mean a happy-go-lucky one that tied up every loose end?
