Why are Fox and Marvel Having a Showdown Over 'X-Men' and 'The Avengers 2'?

Hitfix

Ever since the record-annihilating opening weekend of "The Avengers" last year, I've been hearing speculation and questions about whether or not other studios who have the rights to certain Marvel characters would end up trying to strike a deal with Disney and Marvel Studios to include those characters in some sort of cross-over situation that would allow them to appear in a future "Avengers" film.

Freaking Fox... just give Marvel the rights so Avengers 2 can be badass...

knowing who he was, it just didn't make much sense to me to include him in Avengers 2. Especially since they can't really mention who his father is.

Exactly why Fox should just give the rights to Marvel. Of course, they would never just do that. It's just quite annoying since I want Avengers 2 to be as great as possible. I'm not really an X-Men fan either.

Yup it's a bit hard to present quicksilver specially if they wont mention him as a mutant and a son of magneto. On the other hand singer just wanted quicksilver in the movie for some action scenes and some elaborate sequences that he feels will work with quicksilver.

Truth be told... I know little to nothing about that character, and really don't consider them to be all that important to The Avengers. I'm not even convinced that ant-man is needed to be totally honest. I think they should just leave the team as it is.

Well, they can't have Thanos as the villain yet, and Joss thinks Quicksilver and Scarlet are perfect to be the villains for Avengers 2. Ant-Man was actually apart of the original Avengers roster, and Captain America wasn't. Plus, when you make a sequel, you need to inflate the action and introduce more things or people will feel like they're watching the same thing again. Marvel has all these characters they want to make movies for, so they might as well add them to the MCU to create of the biggest movie universes ever.

I have no clue why this is an actual issue for them?

Sigh... This is what happens when Marvel franchises are split across the four winds.

I'm sure they'll work something out.
