Game of Thrones: "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" | Den of Geek Review

Good Seven Lords, the ending of that episode was so intense I could hardly BEAR it.

Yes, to the surprise of no book reader, the episode entitled "The Bear and Maiden Fair" was the one where Jaime Lannister pulled a San Diego Channel 4 News Team by commencing in a BEAR FIGHT to save Brienne. It was epic, it was gnarly and it was…at the end of the episode.

There are still some on the Internet who claim Game of Thrones is not as good as it used to be. But when I look at the four previous blockbusters we have received in a row, it is clear that Game of Thrones is in its prime and never been better. Hence, it not being no surprise that this week, written by George R.R. Martin himself, only ratcheted up the breathtaking awe and dread (they go in equal hand) even further. It had castle intrigue, violence, torture, super magical dragons and more than a few great lines of dialogue. Also, considering Mr. Railroad himself, lord and creator of this entire realm to which HBO bends the kn...

Ehh that bear seen wasn't that epic for me, I would rate this episode 8/10.

This scene was a lot more tense in the book.

Also there has been practically no violence in this season, considering how big violence is in the 3rd book i am disappointed. Here is hoping the next 3 episodes pay off. I know at least 1 of them should.

Did they skip a lot of violence scenes from the book?

Well they've obviously have had to mix in plenty of characters since they can't necessarily afford to cast so many people, nor the screen time.

However, the bear scene, is a lot different "Vargo Hoat" is Locke, except that he is a sellsword across the narrow sea, where danny is now. He was originally hired to by twyin, he but he turned to robbs side. He cut off the hand jaime, when jaime comes back to harrenhal, (bolton leaves and leaves Vargo/locke as the castellan). A fight breaks out between the few people left in the castle (the sellswords) and those taking jamie back to King's Landing (bolton's men).

The books are filled with plenty of debauchery, violent acts just like the show. But this season just wasted some key things with the whore joke with pod.

They tension of the sansa/tyrion marriage is lost, with 3 weeks and they're still talking about it. In the books it happened basically in the same chapter.

Yeah i felt like sometimes they didnt have to keep reminding us about a lot of topics. Since they do show a recap before each episode. Do they show Daenerys Targaryen a lot more in the book. I swear they use her for sponsoring the show this season but they show her like 2-3 minutes each episode.

Its more or less for everyone, except for stannis and Davos they've only been on the show like twice. Pretty bad I must say.

yeah seems to me that shes the frontal figure for the show, probably because shes one of the hottest actress in the show LOL.

Umm well, I'm not supporter of the Targaryen house.

I only support one person whom i think will be there close to the end. He is the smallest of the small lords and his land is the smallest of the fingers :P. That is the only man I will bend the knee to.
