Jeff Nichols Talks Making 'Midnight Special,'

The Playlist:
If all goes well, 2016 should wind up as a very good year for Jeff Nichols. I do plan on seeing this movie.

It's pretty good, but don't go in expecting a crowd pleaser. I was lucky enough to get a chance to see an advanced screening of it because I live near a major market. If you are familiar with any of Jeff Nichols other films you'll have a rough idea of what you're in for.

Mud Review | GES

ges-sa.com | "Writer/Director Jeff Nichols returns for his third feature film, and the announcement of this film definitely had me excited! After his masterpiece, ‘Take Shelter’, I will not miss any of his future films. Nichols is definitely one of those film-makers that thrive on their own work, because I don’t see how anyone else could direct his writing or why he would direct a screenplay written by someone else. Mud was screened at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival and competed for the Palme d’Or. It was also shown at the Sundance Film Festival. So, how does this compare to his previous film? It doesn’t, it’s a very different story but ‘Mud’ is just as brilliant!"
