Will 'Chronicle' Star Michael B. Jordan Be Human Torch in 'Fantastic Four'?

The Wrap

"Chronicle" star Michael B. Jordan is in contention to play The Human Torch in Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" reboot due in 2015, which would give the African-American actor a rare role as a superhero in a big studio franchise, numerous individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap.

The story is too old to be commented.

I'd really rather they don't go this way. stick to how they made the characters in the comics.

but if they dont go this route, they might play the race card again.
they did it with james bond sometime back. and were thinking of going with will smith for the part. LOL

Actually, I believe it was Idris Elba. And that would have been awesome.

People play the race card way too easily these days. If they had a black human torch they'd have to have a black Invisible Woman too. I mean Marvel Studios are putting Falcon in Captain America 2 and there are rumours of a Black Panther film in Phase 3 and perhaps a Luke Cage film. What's the point in turning white characters black just so they don't look racist?

In fact if they did change his colour I'd play the race card as changing a character's colour purely for appeasement is racist.

I agree. I don't trust Fox with Fantastic Four anymore. Wait...let me correct that...I don't trust Fox with any comic book franchise anymore.

No, no, no. The Human Torch was not black.

I would prefer a white one like in the comics. sure they could cast a different race but i think they should follow the comics because this will always be open for some criticism and mix reactions.
