Oz the Great and Powerful Review | Nerdluster

Nerdluster writes: Even though final act that lacks energy or resolution I found very little else wrong with the film as a whole. It is colorful, energetic and honest almost the entire time. I felt that Oscar's character was very plain to see through but the way that he is eventually set up as the "Wonderful Wizard of Oz" does a lot to set the stage for any future sequels. Most of the time it felt as though the characters and story were playing according to rules set by the 1939 classic and as such those elements seemed dated or "slow". In summation this is a great film to kick off the Summer Movie Season, if you have kids I'd recommend this over Jack the Giant Slayer any day of the week.
