Argo Triumphs at Critics Choice Awards

BBC News & Entertainment:
Hostage drama Argo was the big winner at this year's Critics' Choice Awards, hours after director Ben Affleck missed out on an Oscar nomination.

Affleck jokingly "thanked the Academy" as he accepted best director, but added: "This is the one that counts." The movie was also named best film.

Oscar favourites Daniel Day Lewis and Jessica Chastain won the best actor and actress prizes respectively.

I'm very happy about that. He so deserves it and more. It doesn't make up for not even getting a Nom for the Oscars but at least this something.

Damn that's a long interview. I wish it was a video interview instead, lol.

Yeah if Ben Affleck was an actor I respected I would have read this, but from the guy who made Gigli, uh, I don't think so..

-And I'm pretty sure he is going to mess up batman, the same way he messed up Dare Devil..

But he didn't mess up Daredevil. Daredevil suffered from mediocre writing, which then gave mediocre performances. They wanted a dark gritty violent movie yet pushed for a lighter Pg-13 rating (Kinda felt stuck in between to where even the writers probably didn't know what they were trying to make it). Also seeing Daredevil running around, fighting crime to Evanescence tunes isn't what i consider badass. That movie was doomed way before Affleck was cast.

On a happier note, the Daredevil director's cut is actual a decent watchable movie.

Made me laugh XD

PLAYBOY: George Clooney kept a photo of himself as Batman on his office wall as a reminder of what can happen when you take a role for money and fame. If you had such a photo in your office, which movie would you go with?

AFFLECK: I'd probably have two or three. [laughs] It'd be tough to choose. The only movie I actually regret is Daredevil. It just kills me. I love that story, that character, and the fact that it got fucked up the way it did stays with me. Maybe that's part of the motivation to do Batman.
