The DailySuperHero.com: While Marvel Studios is prepping Iron Man 3 for its May 2013 release, what is sure to be the biggest news sooner than later is what will become of actor Robert Downey Jr. and his future with Marvel.
It's not the storyline changes that are the problem it's the being no RDJ as Iron Man. He's amazing as Stark, I think Marvel will do everything in their power to keep him as long as possible.
I agree with what I think you're trying to say, in that he wasn't doing anything hugely successful, but if you haven't seen Kiss Kiss Bang Bang I'd recommend it.
I hope it happens because I can't see anyone else playing Iron Man....at least not for a long time....and when it does happen...what I see is him handing it down to someone else because he's no longer able to because he's dying or something like that.
There will never be a better Stark. Plus, RDJ's popularity couldn't be higher. Everyone loves him and he is the king of a comeback.
Why wouldn't you want to continue to play Iron Man when it is such a fun role and offers a great cast to work with? Honestly, it's a dream job for actors.
He still does other films as well, so I'd like to think his heart is still in it.
i think he will likely sign picture to picture but i dont see him refusing any roles. he seems to legitimately love playing iron man and he is perfect for it. similar to jackman and wolverine
they got to do thier best to keep him in as iron man, otherwise this is massive storyline changes to explain his absense
I honestly cant see anyone else being able to act the way he does as Iron Man
Its respect from both sides.
-Downey Jr wasn't doing anything great till Marvel GAVE HIM A CHANCE to revive his career, and they did it well.
-Marvel can thank him for really exploding in the Hollywood scene since he is the perfect Iron Man.
So out of respect I think he should stay, and Marvel should be generous with their money.
