Is Joseph Gordon-Levitt Already Set to Play Batman in 'Justice League'?

HitFix

It's starting to look like Warner Bros may hold Christopher Nolan in the highest possible regard, but that in the end, they own their characters and they will decide what they're going to do with them.

This would be...interesting. I'm having trouble with exactly how I feel on it. On one hand I love the Nolan trilogy and liked the setup at the end of TDKR for JGL to be the next Batman. At the same time, I'd love to see Batman taken in another direction with the reboot (a little more fantastical). If it happens I think I'll be excited, but until we know for sure, I'm still on the fence.

I think he should be totally different in the Justice League too but I never thought of JGL as Batman but more as Robin.

I'm not ready for for a Batman reboot. They need to give it some space...like maybe 5 years or more before they bring another Batman back to the big screen.

Agreed I thought he was going to be Nightwing based on how the movie ended, not Batman.

Crazay4351d ago

I'm hoping he's not playing the same character that he was in The Dark Knight Rises. I'd much rather he was Bruce Wayne if he is in fact to take the role on.

calis4351d ago

Can't see him playing Bruce Wayne, it would be confusing as hell.

But you can't have Batman and not have it being Bruce Wayne.

Agreed, personally I would've thought that he would be better suited as nightwing but I reckon that he would make a cool batman

KingPin4350d ago

maybe levitt could be batman beyond.

kind of like a successor to bruce wayne.

ATi_Elite4351d ago

I thought he was gonna be Robin!

No more Batman's for a Decade unless you can throw enough money at Nolan and Bale to comeback.....along with the Penguin as the bad guy!

Abdou234351d ago

Wasn't he supposed to be Robin ? he told that lady at the end that his legal name is Robin.

How about no comic book movies for a set period of time. Talk about oversaturation ...

Soldierone4351d ago

The thing is, when I saw this scene I auto thought "Batman Beyond" so if they go that route I'm interested, but I doubt it since that wasn't "too" popular.

I don't think Justice League feels right without Bruce Wayne being Batman. I don't want Nolans dark and "realistic" Batman in it either. I want more "fantasy" and like I've said time and time again, I want him to be a Detective. I don't think Nolan even hinted a single time that Batman was a detective.....

Simon_Brezhnev4350d ago

Nolan didnt even do a good job with Rising the rest of the movies he did. Rising wasnt even dark imo. TBH he should look at Arkham City as a reference for Batman thats some good detective work.

This may all still be speculations and I think everyone here is right in saying to give the franchise a bit of a break from over-saturation, but wasn't Joseph Gordon Levitt role in The Dark Knight Rises revealed in the end as - the Robin?.. Do think he would play a very good Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Just bought 3rd Rock from the Sun one of my all time fave comedy series sitcoms where Joseph Gordon is also part of the ensemble casts'. Absolutely hilarious.. don't know how old John Lithgow is today but I know he's one hell of a great actor whether it be comedy/drama/thriller. He could play a real convincing baddie like Kevin Spacey maybe give him a role in a future Batman/Justice League movie.

Crazay4351d ago

Interesting thought....John Lithgow for Lex Luthor maybe?
