Geek Binge: When I first heard that Sam Raimi was going to direct a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, it sounded like a dream come true. Raimi has an eye for style, and can seem to find the fun in any story he so chooses. With a story and world as inherently fun as The Wizard of Oz, the possibilities are almost limitless for what that director can accomplish and bring to life. With a universe as rich as that, Raimi in the director chair, and James Franco set as your lead, it should be an easy home run.It wasn’t until the first trailer for Oz: The Great and Powerful came out back in July that doubts began to swirl in my head for this return to the Land of Oz.
