Geek Binge: Cloud Atlas is the type of ambitious filmmaking you rarely see on the big screen. Directors Tom Tykwer, Lana Wachowski, and Andy Wachowski took a risk on a source material many have said is unfilmable, and struggled through several financial hurdles to get this film made. But what they have created in Cloud Atlas is something magnificent to behold—that is, if you’re willing. Cloud Atlas is not an easy film. It’s going to require a lot from most viewers, mainly because it commands a particular type of faith in filmmakers’ abilities.
