Geek Binge: The CW has upped its game in giving us a pretty darn entertaining show based on one of the lesser-known DC Comics superheroes – The Green Arrow. Stephen Amell puts a gorgeous, steely, square-jawed face our titular hero, and gives us a good mix of vulnerability and badassery that should make this a very compelling character to follow. The overall storyline and backstory of the main character is actually quite relevant for these uncertain economic times when everyone is looking for a hero to rescue them from – or downright kick the crap out of – the greedy criminals that got us here in the first place. The show is definitely not without its flaws or common superhero tropes, but simply put, the story and its characters are exciting and engaging enough to keep me around for a while
