End of Watch Review | Clickonline

Clickonline writes: "It’s not the all out action romp that some may have hoped for, but aside from some puzzling approaches to shooting from Ayer, End of Watch is one of the biggest surprises of the year for us, offering up a genuinely excellent slice of cop action drama, and one that you certainly won’t want to miss out on."

Top 11 Films of 2012

LRA writes: 2012 was the year that the super hero movie stood tall amongst all others. Such colossal hits as "The Avengers", "Dark Knight Rises", "The Amazing Spider-man", the moderately successful but no less impactful release "Chronicle" and even the financial bomb but critically praised "Dredd 3D", this was a banner year for super heroes everywhere (let's try to forget that "Ghost Rider" sequel shall we). We also got the triumphant return of James Bond in "Skyfall", the beginning of another journey through Middle-Earth in "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" and countless more films that helped define a year that was filled with plenty of memorable highlights and some unfortunate (but sadly expected) low points. So to help commemorate (and narrow down) the best, worst, most disappointing and other miscellaneous picks from the year, here is my list of films that left an everlasting impact on me, both good and bad.

Craig’s Top 10 Movies of 2012

"If movies were amusement park rides, some people are content riding the merry-go-round or the bumper cars. I ride the roller coasters. I wants to take sharp turns and flip upside down at ludicrous speeds. That’s what I get out of my favorite movies. I want to laugh my ass off or escape reality amongst bullets and explosions. I want to go on an adventure when I recline in my seat while eating my pop corn and drinking my Cherry Coke. 2012 was a fantastic year for movie goers, especially for those who love comedies, action/adventure, and super heroes. I attended a ton of movies this year, but ten really stood out in my mind as not only an enjoyable thrill ride of a theater experience, but also fantastic additions to anyone’s home theater library." - Craig Kandiko of Geekenstein.com

End of Watch Blu-ray Review - WGTC

Jeremy of We Got This Covered wrote, "Training Day writer David Ayer returns behind the lens to direct the gritty cop drama End of Watch, shot mostly via handheld cameras, allowing the film’s realism to excel even more between the two fantastic leads, played with pride and honor by Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena. Although some of End of Watch suffers from typical Ayer gang stereotypes, a good portion of the film works as an exemplary piece of police cinema."
