DailySuperHero.com: Actor Robert Downey Jr. is by far the biggest and most popular name in Marvel Studios' superhero universe, as Tony Stark and Iron Man. Heck, he helped start it all since Iron Man was the studio's first theatrical release, back in 2008.
Currently, with Iron Man 3 in production and preparing for its May 2013 release, Downey is contractually working on his last Marvel Studios movie. That is unless they re-sign him to appear in The Avengers 2, which would be a no-brainer.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
Nekki has announced that the forthcoming gun fu game, SPINE, will receive a movie adaptation to expand the franchise.
As he has stated before, if the bank trucks are big enough he might bite.
I think he'll go for more. He seems to have a lot of fun doing them. I hope so, because I can't really imagine anyone else playing Tony Stark.
Hopefully Downey Jr. does re-sign for at least through Phase Three but he needs to stop doing many of his own stunts since he is only getting older.
It's a steady income. He should stick with it.
I couldn't see anyone else play Iron Man...RDJ was made for the part. I do hope he stays one for a while longer thru the Avengers series anyway. It just wouldn't be the same without him. Yes, he does need to take better care of himself...he isn't getting any younger and they need to make sure he does that...that's what they have stunt doubles for.
