Examiner: As an 8-year old boy, John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), isn't exactly the most popular kid on the block. In fact, the Boston-native is such an outcast that not only are the neighborhood bullies telling him to piss off, but even the little redheaded Jewish kid who's getting his butt kicked, tells him to beat it. As you can imagine, poor little John doesn't have anyone to play with, and when he receives a plush teddy bear for Christmas, John quickly makes a wish for his "talking" teddy to become real.
