freddy kruger is an iconic character that is solid.

however, most of the films really sucked although it is entertaining to watch it was not good in a technical standpoint.

i only liked two nightmare on elm street films, first is the 1984 original and the other one is the film wherein freddy died because the girl protagonist got him out of the dream and into the real world where they can hurt him.

the others like part 2 and a new nightmare was crap, i watched it recently it was not good even freddy vs jason is a more better film than the other film sequels.
