imagine what these guys feel right now knowing that the project was canned a while ago only to be revived by fanfare. now we're talking what looks to be a lucrative standalone franchise.
Could you imagine if Fox would just play nice and partner with Marvel/Disney to bring the X-men into their cinematic universe.
Where did this sudden faith in the franchise come from? Reynolds had to fight tooth and nail just to get the first one going, and now suddenly multiple movies are releasing.
Just saw it tonight and it was fantastic.
More accurate to the source material then anything Marvel, DC or past Fox films have done. Not saying it's 100% true but for one film and the creation of Deadpool and even the lead up with Vanessa the prostitute, him getting cancer, leaving her, the program etc it's spot on.
One of the best Superhero films in my opinion. It's silly, it's comic book like, it respects the source material, great actors and the main villain wasn't that bad.
However I'm now more p***** off they share the same universe with the past X-men films. Nothing I saw in the film made me think of those films and even the new one coming out. They have a golden opportunity to make a more accurate universe.
Put it this way with Jean, Storm and Cyclops in Apocalypse in the 80s being like 20 year olds they are going to be in their 50s in the present. So if they want to cameo in Deadpool films it's going to be weird . They are better off just making Deadpool separate so they can have younger characters.
